Super Bowl Moments We Won’t Forget: Culture, Chaos & C-Walking!
The Super Bowl is more than just a game—it’s a spectacle, a cultural moment, and sometimes, a straight-up rollercoaster of emotions. This year’s showdown had everything: historic firsts, unforgettable performances, and Patrick Mahomes running for his life.
So, let’s break down the moments that had us screaming at the TV, sipping our mimosas in shock, and maybe even doing a little C-walk of our own.
A Tribute to Bourbon Street’s Tragedy
In a powerful moment during the opening of the game, Michael Strahan, Tom Brady, Gayle Benson walked through Bourbon Street reaching Lady Gaga at a piano to honor the victims of the New Year's Day terrorist attack. The NFL and entertainment committee did an amazing job by weaving the culture of New Orleans into the tribute—featuring the legendary Southern University “Jukebox” Marching Band, Mardi Gras Indians, and Harry Connick Jr. Saints’ Cam Jordan joined law enforcement officials on the field to honor the 14 lives lost. A somber but necessary reminder that football is more than just a game—it’s about the communities it brings together.
The Defensive Nightmare: Patrick Mahomes Got WORKED
Y’all. Patrick Mahomes got sacked SIX times and three times in the second quarter alone. Safe to say, that defensive front had him rethinking some life choices. Mahomes is great, but it looks like a 3-peat was not in the storybooks for him. Yet at least.
*Side note: The most recent sports team to get a 3-peat is the Los Angeles Lakers with Kobe Bryant and Shaq.
Pick-6 Party: Who is #33 on the Eagles?!
If you didn’t know Cooper DeJean before this game, you do now! The Eagles’ #33 had a show-stopping play with an interception AND a touchdown (a pick-six) that had Eagles fans screaming and Chiefs fans reaching for another drink. Oh, and by the way—it was his birthday. What a way to celebrate! It was also Saquon Barkely’s birthday. What a gift for the two.

Super Bowl History: First Black Female Coach Wins a Ring
Let’s hear it for the ladies! Autumn Lockwood, the Eagles' Associate Performance Coach, made history as the first Black female coach to win a Super Bowl. This is HUGE for women in sports, and we love to see it! More women on the sidelines, in the locker rooms, and making calls that shape the game!

Kendrick Lamar’s Halftime Show Had the Internet Divided
Love it or hate it, Kendrick Lamar came to make a statement—and he actually performed Not Like Us! If you were wondering why some fans were side-eyeing their TVs, it’s because the song is basically a diss track aimed at Drake.
Some people weren’t feeling the halftime show, but others were ALL IN. This performance was about storytelling and what America needed to hear. My favorite part was Serena Williams hitting the C-walk on the sideline. Not only was she possibly trolling Drake, who she dated once upon a time, but also because when she won at the Wimbledon she did a little snippet of the c-walk and was criticized for it.
Between the touchdowns, turnovers, and tributes this year’s Super Bowl gave us a little bit of everything.
What was your favorite moment? Did the right team win?
